APA Citations (6th ed.): Articles

This citation guide will help you learn how to format and cite your paper in APA style.

Basic Format for Journal Articles in Print

Author(s) surname, initial. (Year). The title of the article. Journal Title, Volume number(issue number), page numbers.

NOTE: Only include issue number IF the journal is paginated separately by issue; this means each new issue begins on page 1 instead of continuing from one issue to another. For example, if issue 3 of a journal begins on page 56, do not include the issue number in the citation.
