American Authors, Literary Movements, Sites & Timeline
The purpose of all the American literature pages is to provide useful, interesting, advertising-free information on the subject and to provide links to the best information available for American literature from the earliest days through the 1920s.
Early Americas Digital Archive
The Early Americas Digital Archive (EADA) is a collection of electronic texts originally written in or about the Americas from 1492 to approximately 1820. Open to the public for research and teaching purposes, EADA is published and supported by the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities (MITH), at the University of Maryland.
Wright American Fiction
This digital collection of 2,887 titles (covering the years 1851-1875) allows insight into American literature, culture, and history otherwise unattainable. The Wright American Fiction project is still heavily referenced and often sought for data mining and textual analysis.
Modern American Poetry (MAPS)
Extraordinary in its depth and breadth, and a one-of-a-kind resource for teaching modern American poetry, MAPS provides a single clearinghouse for some of the best criticism on the best poets of our time.

Voices from the Gaps
Celebrating and documenting the creativity of Asian, Black, Latina, and Native women, VG is one of the internet's most comprehensive and well-respected academic databases for women artists of color. Voices from the Gaps operates out of the University of Minnesota.
Native American Women Playrights Archive
The NAWPA site includes a bibliography of plays by Native American women, directory of writers with works in the NAWPA, and links to Native theater & arts-related sites.
Iowa Digital Library
The Iowa Digital Library contains more than 75,000 digital objects—photographs, maps, sound recordings and documents—from libraries and archives at University of Iowa and their partnering institutions. New collections are being added constantly.
Iowa Heritage Digital Collections
This site is an online repository of Iowa history and culture created by bringing together in digital form documents, images, maps, finding aids, interpretive and educational materials, and other media from collections held by a wide range of organizations throughout Iowa.
Iowa State University Digital Collections
This site highlights works and collections from Iowa State University’s library, including photos, manuscripts, artifacts, books, and audiovisual formats.
